Here's the list of other cites.  Don't know why they don't include STL.

But if you look at the top 10 hoods for each city, KC would be in top 15 of that list.

BTW, they've updated the DB as Blanc Burgers and some P&L places are now included.  Downtown needs more neighborhood amenities and retail to get above 90, which should be online by next year.

Is is a rank of the 40 most populous cities.  St. Louis now ranks fifty-something in population.

Ha, I will still wear it proudly when I'm downtown.  Probably won't see me wearing it around Waldo!  8-[

I have always loved the Tudor style of architecture and have been looking for a house from the 30's for a while, finally found one in good shape that I can afford.  My decision was based solely on my love for this architecture, not for location, schools, walkability, etc.  I'll post a thread with some pictures and documentary in the upcoming weeks!

Real estate agent Kathleen Brock has started putting walk scores in her listings.  I think this may be the first KC agent to do this... http://kathleenbrock.com

God, housing is so cheap in KC.  I can't believe it!!  Especially that house in Roanoke, it seems to be in such great shape and it costs that!!  In DC it would be 3 or 4 times more expensive atleast!

No surprise there.  DC is one of the most expensive housing markets in the country.

According to this site, Westport ranks 10th most walkable neighborhood in US.

http://www.walkscore.com/rankings/walki ... city.shtml
Old Westport is the #10-ranked neighborhood out of the 2,508 neighborhoods in the Walk Score neighborhood rankings. Only New York and San Francisco have neighborhoods more walkable than Old Westport.

Schools: Akka Karate USA

Westport is pretty walkable right around Westport Road and Pennsylvania, but you go less than a mile in any direction and it becomes very auto-centric.

Apparently Akka Karate trumps them all. Also curious Thriftway is listed as the grocery instead of Sunfresh.

This just proves how flawed the WalkScore logic is. Yes, Westport has an excellent proximity to most amenities and has better examples than the ones WalkScore uses, but if anyone is deluded enough to think the experience on the street for a pedestrian is one of the best in America, they are crazy.

I agree.  It says only neighborhoods in San Francisco and NYC are more walkable.  Yeah right.  What about places like Washington DC

Waldo = Suburbia?  Awww, come on now, this isn't fair!  Ok, maybe just a LITTLE tiny bit so, but at least every house on my block doesn't look the same and we have some diversity happening and ties to the city/downtown/blah/blah/etc!.  :)

I live out in the ExUrbs but all summer long I walk across the street and get all of my veg and eggs. If they had fruit, milk and coffee I'd be set.
