Cold Storage Lofts

Post by KC_Bondsman »

I have seen the cold storage lofts.  I've been in some of there unfished or almost finsihed lofts on the upper floors. I can say that they will be very nice.  decent price for what you get. and the Main Lobby is gonna be VERY NICE.  however the place does have some good points and some very bad ones. but depending on what you looking for depends if you can over look some of its lesser qualities. but over all its goonna be a very nice place.

if you all have any questions let me know.  I've seen most of the building.

I toured these awhile back and came away with the impression that they were going to be very tight on space for the money.  It might not be a big deal if you qualify for the reduced price but if you were paying full price it seemed as though it was going to be pretty steep for some pretty small places.

Little known fact. The Cold Storage Building used to have an ice ball that rotated on its roof.

I have seen These and they are pretty small... But on the otherhand they are nice... Especially if you can qualify for the affordable housing program.. There Just isn't much of a wow factor that I thought there would be. Not alot of exposed brick and such. The are basically just an apartment with high cielings.

Are these lofts open yet? And does anyone know what the prices are like? I was somewhat interested in moving there if they open in the next few months.

There was a U-Haul out front on Saturday.  But just one...all alone.  I wasn't sure if people were moving or not.

People were supposed to start movin in Jan 2nd but I guess they have had a hell of a time getting the occupancy permit from the city. The building inspectors are giving them all sorts of problems. I'm moving in the begiining of March. I qualify for the affordable housing program so my rent for a 2 bed 1 bath 1000sq ft in 650.00. Not bad at all. I have one on the eighth floor and have a kick ass view of downtown.

this is not a unique problem. i think everyone moving into a new building could echo this comment.

I'm supposed to move in January 26th, I hope they have everything worked out by then. I have a 2 bedroom unit on the 7th floor and have an awesome view of downtown as well. I snuck on the roof during the open house too. It will be so awesome to hang out and swim up there in the summer. I can't wait!

What is the work out facility like? Very extensive? And does anyone know the cut-off income for qualifying for assistance? I doubt I'd qualify since I plan on earning at least 35 - 40k, but I thought I'd check. And how much is a 1 BR without assistance?

I think the one bedroom without assistance is about 850.00. I'm not positive though. I know it is somewhere in that range. The workout facility was not finished when I was there at the open house, so I have no idea how extensive it is. I just hope they have some free weights.

I could be wrong... It may be a little cheaper. They are nice. It just kinda depends on what you want. Some of the units have very small living rooms and big bedrooms, and others have very big living rooms and small bedrooms. Me, I need the lliving room space so my bedrooms are kinda small which doesn't really bother me. They all have concrete floors but I did see one that had carpet. I think they are putting carpet in some of the bedrooms as well.
