God, what is wrong with people when they think a house should double in value in less than a year?
It looks like about half the house was renovated and the other half cleaned up. That driveway is within a few years old.

It could have a quarter million of work put into it with all the woodwork

Wouldn't doubt if Mac Properties already has it on their radar.

There's two out front on Armour and eight around the corner on Locust all on street. I bet that every unit could find one space to park if they're willing to walk 1-2 blocks.

MAC does have the parking garage behind the International building. I believe tenants from any of their buildings can get a spot there. That is not too far from this building.

Also, the 3-story brick box apartment building at 36th and Gillham was recently put up for sale. That building could use some love. Wouldn't mind seeing MAC renovate that one as well.

Mac looked at that, but the owner wants way too much. Don't think they'll be taking that on unless he can significantly reduce his price...

The Pancho's block is up for sale.

Happy to see this, but I hope Pancho's can find another spot, hopefully without a drive-thru. I always try to go inside, when possible. Their drive-thru can be slow, especially with long lines that often happy around bar closung time. I wish they would keep the restaurant open all the time.

A small, 24-hour counter operation on the streetcar extension would be great.

Also, the aforementioned apartment building at 36th and Gillham has been purchased and is under renovation.

Here is excerpt and photos from WSJ on mansion at Lake Quivira in Shawnee

This Kansas Megamansion Has a Network of Underground Scuba Tunnels
(https://www.wsj.com/articles/this-kansa ... 1567174818)

In a small city outside Kansas City, Kan., an estate with an eccentric perk—a network of underground, water-filled tunnels designed for scuba diving—is slated to list for $11.8 million.

The brainchild of the owner’s late husband, a scuba enthusiast, the tunnels are carved into the 18-acre property. Entered via a series of grottoes and pop-up holes, the tunnels lead to a 30-foot-deep outdoor pond, which is filled with statues, faux fossils and exotic fish, according to Gary Hosack of Crown Realty, who is listing the property with his daughter Katie Casey. The largest of the grottoes features a 30-foot waterfall, a heated swimming pool, a sauna and a wet bar for entertaining...

Ms. Shaw’s husband, Dennis Langley, who worked in the natural-gas business, died unexpectedly more than two years ago, she said. She is now downsizing to a smaller property.

The main home, known as the “Spirit of Avalon,” a name inspired by the legends of King Arthur, will be the most expensive available for sale in the state of Kansas, according to listings website Zillow . The statewide average sales price in July was $227,041, according to the Kansas Association of Realtors.

I feel like that location is just awful. The landfill isn't that far away, the sewer plant is not far. I am thinking this house will sit for awhile

I've been to the house a few times and never noticed any negative aspects in that regard.

The place is mind boggling.

3906 Central - $530k
Used to be a 7-11. Has been vacant as long as I can remember. Would love to see it torn down:

This parcel has been sold. The 7-Eleven that was there from 1975 until 1983 had encumbered the property with restrictive deed covenants, delaying the sale until the "no sale of food or beverage" deed prohibition was lifted, 36 years after the relevant use ended. The building will be modified and an Asian restaurant will open next year.

The question of decades-old restrictive language complicating urban renewal is something that the city should ask the county to look into.
