That's the best 12.9M the city spends every year. First of all, a large portion of the cost was for the P&L garage which is essential used for the Sprint Center. If they didn't build it under P&L they would have had to build it under the arena which would have increased the cost. Secondly, there'd be no Sprint Center without the city approving the district. These two projects are essentially one. Next, it hasn't just influenced new projects in the CBD. Westport is totally different now and it is largely because the party crowd has moved to a more controlled setting in P&L. Lastly, you still have several prominent storefronts available in the district. If you want to blame anyone for the shortage, blame Cordish for not having it fully rented.

Well, apparently Lucky Lanes is the latest tenant to leave P&L. Checked out the website and saw that 'Z Strike Bowling' is replacing Lucky Lanes. Same concept with reasonable prices.

But Lucky Lanes is latest out the door...

I think this happened a few months ago. The Z-Strike signs have been up since about March or April I'd guess.

I guess you're right. I drove by there today and noticed that they are still keeping the sign, they just changed the name. Anywho, what was the reason Lucky Strike left? Or should I even ask, knowing the answer already *cough* 'Cordish' *cough*

Maybe I'm just poor, but I can't imagine spending that much money to bowl. I would much rather go to a "pitchers of Busch" type bowling alley. I really hope these new lanes are cheaper and less douchey, but it's Power n Light so most likely not.

I am literally shocked. Why, there were almost 3 tables in there the last time I ran by, during breakfast, on a Saturday.

May it be replaced with a quality breakfast establishment.

One time I was out running (again, on a Saturday) and some touri stopped me and asked the way to Fran's "that breakfast place". I gave them very detailed directions to Cascone's (they were on foot) and assured them if it was a diner breakfast they were after it would be worth the walk.

EDIT: Fran's had great signage though.

Indeed. It was an embarassment of an operation. I never once had a good experience on any level, be it service, food. The upkeep of the place was horrendous as well, the restrooms were always in disrepair, lights were out all over.

Just awful. Bring in a quality tenant.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that often when I happened by it was clear the place was not busy, and yet there were dirty tables. Unacceptable.

people should be happy (or at least happier) with what is replacing Fran's. This has been in the works for a while.
