I'm excited to have this downtown. My girlfriend has be waiting in eager anticipation ever since I told her that was becoming Latteland. We used to live in West Plaza and I believe she frequented the location on Jefferson. She suggests the Lavender Tea Latte. I just get the coffee.

Here's hoping for their great success!

They need to significantly change the decor with more warmth.  The Latteland guys know how to run a shop though, so should have better luck than the ones beforehand.

The only bad thing which Dave has mentioned is small sidewalks outside don't allow for much outdoor hangout space.

so excited for this Latteland in P&L.  It was much needed, though I'm still not entirely sold on the location.  I also hope there is room for at least a few tables and chairs along the sidewalk - a key component to any true Latteland in experience :)

if ingredient would start staying open a little later and actually providing some type of service for downtown residents this could become quite a busy little corner.  Here's hoping...

Yeah, perhaps the small Bice Cafe spot would be another good location for LL since it could have outdoor seating and is more central to P&L.  But if 12th/Main is to get more action, it needs LL there.

Is the PnL the new Plaza? More local owners than the Plaza now.

P&L retail isn't established enough yet to compare.  Once it is, the chain retailers will surely jump on P&L.  Kudos to the locals who are taking the risks to re-establish downtown retail.

To downtowners (workers and residents):  Use it or lose it

Bice Cafe would be good for Red Mango. RM + Chipotle would be a one-two punch right there.

More GOOD news regarding Latteland's prospective hours. all you downtowners need to use these weekend hours if you want less dark stuff on weekends.

Looks like my walk to and from work will have to be down Main now instead of Walnut. ESPECIALLY if they have smoothies like their Jefferson St location. Silver Moon smoothies are the best things ever.

And do you know what I think would be an awesome addition to the shopping area of P&L? Bring Habitat back downtown, and have a place to get really great shoes. I have no problem finding good clothes in KC, but seriously cool shoes are hard to come by. These days I pretty much buy all of mine while out of town.

I wasn't expecting many changes from Latteland, but they're doing a lot:

I'm very excited about the weekend hours!  Finally, a coffee shop in the CBD that has normal weekend hours.
But, ugh.  6pm during the week?!  I'm not even home by then most days.

Yup, went this morning, talked with the new GM, she came from Plaza location....  They did a good job inside and still have more to do.. couple cumfy chairs still being upholsterer, more tables, power outlets to be in stalled for laptops, etc...

I still miss the 15 min parking spaces that used to be on Main and 12th St.  I have no easy way/place to grab a coffee on my way to work (out of downtown).
On to the Next One

KC Kroph, it's 30 minute free parking in the Cosentinos lot. You don't even have to get validated until you hit 31 minutes, and then it's free for 2 hours.
