Rumor for Lucky Strike Space
I heard from a reliable source that one of the co-owners of Cleaver & Cork (not Alex Pope, but apparently his partner?) is in the process of working out details to open a soccer-themed restaurant/bar in the former Lucky Strike space. The details were a little muddy, but it sounds like it would be a significant Sporting KC tie-in.
Has anyone else heard anything about this, or has this already been mentioned somewhere else in KCRag?

That would be a huge bar. I think a bocce court would be cool in there vs bowling.

Sporting KC's "No Other Pub"
http://www.kansascity.com/news/business ... 56285.htmlNo Other Pub is scheduled to open Feb. 22 in the former Z-Strike space at 1370 Grand Blvd., on the second level of the Kansas City Live Block. The 21,000-square-foot venue is designed to expose more people to the Sporting Kansas City brand, but it also will highlight other sports.
The No Other Pub name is in tribute to the popular “no other club” chant of the team’s supporter group, the Kansas City Cauldron. Supporters groups will host watch parties at the new bar, offering discounts to their members.
KC is the way to be!

Re: Sporting KC's "No Other Pub"
Pursuing established local ties is a better direction for P&L but only works if the product is good and has broad appeal in the end. The Mixx and Peachtree were locals that didn't make it. This one might have a shot given SKC has a large following and given P&L draws from mainstream.
Now if P&L could score a decent local BBQ joint.
BTW, what's going in over next to Sprint Store at corner of Grand? Thought I heard about something but don't recall.

Ah, I thought it closed. Guess it didn't. So was Peachtree only local that didn't make it? Didn't help that it was on second level.

Seems like a solid idea. There is a ton crossover with Royals and Sporting fans - would love for them to be able to do the shuttle service in the other direction for Royals games (not all of them).
