I like this building in Minneapolis.
Completed in 2014, the 36-story LMP Apartments is in the center/right.
Unique shape, unique materials and unique design.
It would really mix things up between Two and Three Light.

We need 2 things:

1) Start date as Three was promised to begin construction before Two Light was completed.

2) Newest rendering with details.

Or at least better description in words than "drastically different" and "coolest."

An earlier post says the timing is around moving the crane next door, so I would expect that we'll see foundation work begin shortly before they stop needing to lift anything on Two.

Wait, Cordish is planning on engineering and paying for the cap? That would be awesome.

Tax incentives given not for just for 3 and 4 light, but to improve the surrounding environment too as a larger project (put in the cap) would be of clear value to downtown.

I'm really surprised that KC has not gotten the attention of a few out of town developers to propose a new residential high rise. Most new projects going up in cities like Nashville are from developers in Chicago etc looking for the "next" cities ripe for such construction. I know many, if not most, of KC's current lower rise projects are out of town, but with Cordish planning to build several more towers, I would think that other deeper pocket developers would notice and KC would see at least one proposal for a 25-35 story 100 million plus tower.

Regardless, it's good to see Cordish moving forward. If they are truly involved with the convention hotel, they may actually want to fast tract the other towers to create a critical mass of activity between the P&L District and the hotel.

I really feel like KC needs a couple big office users to move downtown....particular private companies. Had Cerner plopped a signature office building downtown or any of the major employers in the region, it would make a big splash. H&R Block was nice, but they've struggled and never did build their second office building. I'm shocked no one has wanted to do some on Copaken's lot next to the Sprint Center. I don't know if he has been hard to work with, wants too much money, or there hasn't been enough interest, but it's a little shocking with all the great things going on downtown that someone didn't want to build there.

I'm also really shocked no one has taken on the Copaken lot and connected to Sprint Center in the same way the Hilton works with Centurylink in Omaha or the Omni with Philips/CNN in Atlanta. To me, that would be the best spot for a Four Light hotel/condo tower.

I don't believe they's shoulder the entire cost, but they're committed to helping anyway possible. They understand how transformative of an impact it would have.
I'm just glad a private company wants to invest in public infrastructure in this city. It kind of softens my cynicism with Cordish.

Is it's still being discussed as a W flagged hotel? Any height estimates?

Well, I mean, it would help their investments significantly. The difference in rent they can charge to overlook a park vs a highway has to be substantial.

If I recall the residential can't have balconies facing freeway. If true, if the cap were in progress before Three or Four Lights started, could they have balconies?

This may seem like a dumb question, but would it be prohibitively expensive to install balconies on 2 light post cap?
