Chris Stritzel wrote: Mon Jun 03, 2019 4:47 pm It's certainly an interesting design but just a minor observation, the rendering is different than the missing diagrams. The condo levels, in the rendering, appear to be all glass while the massing diagram shows shaded window dividers. Second, the "3" along the roof isn't featured in the rendering and finally, the 3 Light sign close to the ground is different in the missing diagrams. Could just be a few minor things left out in the rendering. Overall, interesting design. Hopefully, they don't pull a fast one and put the same colored glass all over the place.
This makes me interested to see what the final renderings end up showing.

Cap that highway!!!
Also hope they keep the slanted roof, the renderings for two light had that and they never did it.

Almost looks like 2 different buildings combined: one from the late 20th Century and one from now. The penthouses really do look like something added to the roof of a earlier bldng. Will look good as when combined with Strata the 3 newer buildings will echo the height ascendancy of the big 3 postmoderns on 12th. Could some clever gentleman or gentlewoman illustrate Lights 2, 3, and Strata on the southern loop skyline?

Would be more ideal if nothing like 2 Light but this is a relatively decent way to give it some changeup and far better than the original monotony. The skywalk makes sense in order to share amenities w/out having to walk outside and pass security. Hope they keep the slanted top.

When 4 Light planning begins, perhaps The Rag will fire up to press for something _entirely_ different, with no hint of being part of the other three. Even if they mimic another Cordish project in other city. Another similar building will make the stretch look like 'the projects' in a couple decades.

I threw a quick rendering together with it in the skyline if you have a place to host it.

I just tossed it onto my old fb page. Too lazy to host it someplace.

We're going to look a little glassy from the view, but it's inevitable.

Ah long as they mix up the glass and design in okay.

Our crossroads friends could help with some higher, interesting infill too:)

3 Light is going to end up bigger than first advertised. Now planning for 320-330 units (including condo)

What percent ownership? How is it broken up? I'll say as a buyer don't mix me in with the renters.

Top floors are condo only (~20 units). Shared lobby with segregated elevator areas.

What is the likelihood that this project generates enough interest in the highway cap project? Would they provide any private funding to it?

More residents along the trench will naturally drive interest in a cap. However, I doubt any profit seeking firm will cover the cost of a true cap unless they can build a commercial structure over the trench as well.

I can't imaging the cap going anywhere now based on the election results. I was never a fan of the public expense as there are more important infrastructure scars to fix (like north loop or relocating I-35).

I didn't realize relocating I-35 was even an idea. Is there more info about it?

It's just that: an idea. MoDOT isn't interested, but the only joint statement the Crossroads and Westside ever made (you're welcome) was asking MoDOT to consider realignment rather than investing in the existing viaduct (instead we got new striping).
