Now What?
Is this whole board "New Stadiums Discussion" dead? I know people are still talking about the Wizards and that is really the only thing that fits in here now. The Wizards stadium will more than likely be built in JOCO and until there are further talks is this board useless?

Re: Now What?
I think any Wizards stadium can safely fit in the Kansas suburbs forum. I liked this forum while it lasted. May it rest in peace in the Valhalla of Kansas City abandoned ideas.

If you don't think they are great stadiums then you don't have to go to the games. But you can pay for the stadiums.lock&load wrote:

Re: Now What?
puking to the "great renoations" or "beautiful stadiums"?
I'd rather have a downtown park but at this point it's not happening...maybe in 25 years when the next set of stadiums are built across the country.
So why whine? Let's enjoy our cash.....it will be fun seeing what is added to both Kauffman and Arrowhead.

Nor do I plan to often. And I imagine when I get into the car to go to the grocery store, I'll be more likely to head up north rather than down to the Sun Fresh.KansasCityCraka wrote: If you don't think they are great stadiums then you don't have to go to the games. I don't know if I can wait until 2010 when the renovations will be complete.

and that's your petty right to do. I'm sure that .20 you save will easily pay for that $2.50/gallon gas.

Re: Now What?
It didn't sound like it would take until 2010....maybe I misunderstood Carl...I thought he talked like it was happening as soon as possible...I'd assume after this upcoming football season.
Re: Now What?
Petty right? It isn't much farther to drive up north, and Price Chopper and Hyvee are much cheaper than Sun Fresh anyway, so in the end, I will save plenty of $$.
So did you vote YES Powercat? You've been quite quiet on it.

What about the issuse of the rolling roof? That is *probably* not dead yet. Would you use this room for that?KCPowercat wrote: yeah this room will probably go away.....we've built ourselves a new arena and have some great renovations coming to 2 beautiful stadiums.

You could but that can fit in 1 thread in KC Sports instead of 50 in a board room.AllThingsKC wrote: What about the issuse of the rolling roof? That is *probably* not dead yet. Would you use this room for that?

Hey I go up there too....not because of one tax or another I don't like though....I'm just not that pissed about anything I guess.lock&load wrote: Petty right? Of coruse you did, no one here is ashamed to be on the NO side. You were very quiet. SO what was it, the fear, the bribes, or the great location?

I'm not ashamed at all.....I just didn't want to get into this little pissing match. It's just an internet message board...I don't know you people...I couldn't care less to prove my vote to you.
What was it? The lack of another plan. If there was a downtown groundswell, the leadership should have had the balls to stand up, piss off a few people, and let that plan be known.
I don't mind Arrowhead where it is and actually I love Kauffman...just not the location.....so there were a lot of positives to me.
I actually didn't decide my vote until walking home today....I saw benefits on both sides.

I voted no, but good for you. I understand your position, and in the grand scheme of things, it could be a lot worse. Glad to see you handled this better than a lot of us did, really.KCPowercat wrote: I'm not ashamed at all.....I just didn't want to get into this little pissing match. Re: Now What?
Please feel free to quote me on this:
I don't expect any appreciable work to be done on the stadiums with this money. The ballot language doesn't require or enforce it. I expect the money we're handing them to become as lost as Jimmy Hoffa.
I also expect that they'll be demanding more money before the decade is out.
Kansas City forsook itself, and for that, I am supremely disappointed.
