ESPN Mag reported that the new 2002 labor deal does include revenue sharing. Not a lot, but better than before.
However - there's a clause letting teams deduct "stadium costs" from their payout. So, what teams such as the Cardinals and Yankees are now doing is building their own facilities to avoid the luxury tax!
Cards are paying 70% of their new 388M park. Why not? Better than sharing it w/the Royals. Nice work, Selig.
Is MLB's revenue sharing system FLAWED ?
