Jayhawk Nation: I need to know if we can somehow watch KU basketball using an Apple TV. An app or package or something? We don't want to watch on a laptop, but on an actual TV.

THX

If you can watch it in your browser, you can watch it on chromecast.

Several KU games are ONLY available for Time Warner, Comcast, or WOW! subscribers, including tonight's game against Pitt State. Games are on ESPN3 on your computer or Ipad, but KU games are blacked out locally.

So you're SOL unless you have a cable subscription to one of those companies. Wonderful. Looks like I'm going to a bar tonight.

Does some tech person have an easy ip adress work around? I vaguely remember this being an issue for some tourney games played at sprint center.

It's the same crappy TV deal Mizzou had for years. Why KU made this deal with Time Warner is beyond me.

I plan on one of two methods:

1. Using free Tunnel Bear VPN app to mask local IP and view on ESPN3 via iPad.

2.Use the ZenMate extension to mask local IP for Google Chrome to view on ESPN3. Edit: ZenMate not available for iPad yet.

If neither work, I'm going to burn my Mizzou neighbor's couch sitting on his front porch.

Because someone couldn't see past the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I don't think KU actively sought out any such deal (though I am just speculating), but TWC saw people fleeing their control and identified KU bball as the best way to hold them hostage for a little longer. They probably had to pay a premium to decrease the overall exposure to KU bball. For me, that was a terrible move by KU. I'd have to see some huge dollar numbers for bad games to make it a reasonable decision.

I guess I am a little fortunate (after months of cursing how long Google Fiber is taking) that I don't get Google until December now. They will only have one game after that on Jayhawk TV, and I will be too busy watching replays of futuristic dunks over my gig Internet connection. I may as well just plan to go to that game to make it even less of a concern.

Thursday's game is on AXS.

WTF is AXS?

Do they want KU games to be a secret this year?
