Team was apparently really close to selling the rights to U.S. Bank. I imagine a deal could still be struck.

That would definitely be a sad day for KC if it becomes US Bank Field at Kauffman Stadium or whatever crap name they'd come up with. I can somewhat understand changing Arrowhead, but to unceremoniously pull Mr. K's name off the stadium to make a little cash when the team's value has already tripled from what David Glass paid for it seems awfully petty.

If the naming money went straight to the 'Sign Eric Hosmer' fund, I could somewhat support a naming change. It would still be sad and pathetic, but I can deal with it if the cash were used to sign FAs and the guys we have now.
Problem is, I cannot give Glass the benefit of the doubt. The naming money will go straight to his pocket. That's what I would assume anyway...
