It was anybody's game. There are several things one could point to that hurt the Chiefs. But I'm still stuck on clock management.

When a team loses, especially when it is close, there are always things one can be critical of. Even when a team wins one can always point out a thing here, and thing there that would have made the game easier to win. I too question some of the clock management but in the end would better clock management made a difference in the outcome?
In the end the better team, for that day, won the game.

the fact that reid has come out and not only defended the clock management at the end, but said it was exactly his plan... well, that's just mind-boggling.

Forget his whole career. Just look at his stats for his time as a Chief. QB ratings of 2013 - 89.1, 2014 - 93.4, 2015 - 95.4. TD's to INT 23 - 7, 18 - 6, 20 - 7.

Is he a great QB destined for the HOF? No, and never will be. But his QB rating was in the top 10 for the league in 2015.

So, a question to you is What "available" QB should the Chiefs sign as a free agent or pursue in a trade?
How about we give Chase Daniels a legitimate start?

Or pick up anyone with the potential that Smith has proven he doesn't have over the last 12 years. Start with RG3...

"How about we give Chase Daniels a legitimate start?"

Gimme a break. RG3 has lower QB ratings for 2013 and 2014, of course no play in 2015. And he has a worse TD to Int ratio than Smith.

Chase has been a backup for 6 years for a reason.

There were 147 games this season in which one or both teams scored at least 27 points. A team giving up 27 points won 33 of those games. Adding those 33 wins to the loss column as well, since the losing team in those games necessarily also gave up more than 27 points, this means that teams giving up 27 points were 33-147 (a .183 winning percentage, equivalent to about a 3-13 record over a 16 game season).

But certainly, if we'd only given Chase Daniel a shot, we'd be headed to the AFC Championship right now.

Our defense was not up to the task. Ever since Houston went down, the pass rush was not as effective as it needed to be.

So what? We already know what Smith's peak performance level is...and I want to see someone, ANYONE with more upside than a Matt Cassel clone (Smith).

And Tom Brady was drafted 199th for a reason...

Yeah, Tom Brady had no NFL experience at the time. Daniels has had 6 years of experience and time to prove himself.

RG3 is one who has had one great year years ago and plagued by injuries and such since then. Some team will take a chance with him for 2016, a team desperate for a QB, and he may be the solution. But being a solution doesn't mean that he will be a great QB. My opinion is he will be one of those can adequately get the job done but he won't be a HOF candidate. He even ended up 3rd on the Redskins depth chart behind Colt McCoy for the 2015 season. In other words his upside isn't all that much greater than Smith's.

Anyway Smith still has 2 years left on his contract. The Chiefs may be willing to write off one year but not two.

Denver's Aqib Talib celebrates AFC Championship by trashing the Chiefs...

"We ain't look at nothing the Chiefs did — they got served," Talib said, via The Kansas City Star. "The Chiefs ain't help us do nothing. They sorry."
Talib continues to make KU graduates proud. =D> Well done!

Aqib Talib is a national treasure and represents everything right about the NFL. I loathe the fucking Broncos and I would hope somebody on the Chiefs would be talking this kind of shit if they'd have done their job.

Chiefs are projected to win the AFC West at 12-4 according to ESPN experts

That record seems pretty optimistic. I don't think they will be bad this year or anything, but if they win the AFC West it will probably be because everyone else is terrible rather than the Chiefs being particularly awesome.

Sounds right. I think the Raiders will be better and the Broncos will be worse -while SD remains bad. Although, I often think the Broncos don't have what it takes going into a season and they usually prove me wrong (not a difficult task).

I was ready to stop watching after the Raiders first drive, but glad I didn't. Chiefs showed some grit on the road. Going to be a long season.

I'd rather play the Steelers than New England.
The Chiefs would get them at home and seek revenge.
We've made Roethlisberger look terrible before, we can do it again.

The AFC is pretty much a 3 team race - Pats, Steelers, KC but the NFC seems much more wide open, I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers, Giants, Cowboys, Falcons or Seattle make the Super Bowl
