I think Cal was much better than Nate. Nate has gotten better, but I think a Cal/Andy combo would have been nice.

helluva comeback and win last night. granted, we were awful for the first 90 minutes, but the last 5 were golden. dom finally got off the schneid with a well-taken header (thanks to their gk making a mess of it). then scoring the equalizer in the 91st minute and the winner in the 94th(?) made sure those who hadn't given up and left early (damn you people) were rewarded.
it was an exciting way to finish the match, but let's be honest, philly is awful and we should not be having to scramble to earn a tie at home against them. onward and upward, though.

Well said. That was a pretty great stoppage time finish, though.

game's on espn2 tomorrow (4pm). maybe chicago will come to play this year? i doubt it. they'll pack it in, and we'll struggle to get anything on frame. rinse and repeat.

We had some pretty good chances early, but we had very little going for us in the second half. We were lucky to escape with a win, but the great performance in goal was certainly a welcome surprise.

It appears that Sporting KC will have an expansion USL (minor league) team in town next year; the formal announcement is tomorrow.

The release is carefully worded to not say exactly where the team will play (or if it'll even be based in the KC metro at all), but given that the Kansas City Sports Commission will be there, I'm guessing that the team will play here and at Swope Soccer Village, to be exact.

Yeah, it's been no big secret in the community. They'll play at Swope, maybe a game or two at Sporting Park.

Swope Soccer has one of the worst bus stops in the city. (Eastbound is in a muddy ditch.) It's clearly not designed to be a great public facility.

Hopefully getting more regular use helps change this.

skc starting off the 2016 season in fine form. 9 points from the first 3 games sees them sitting in 1st place in the league. it should also be noted that benny feilhaber hasn't even played yet due to injury, so our offense should only improve (we've won mostly due to defense - 1 goal allowed over the 3 games). next game is in two weeks against salt lake.
