What is the new name of the stadium going to be? They probably should drop the name

Why? It's still a great charity and Lance has stepped down from the board. Maybe Livestrong should change their name, then the park can follow.

I think they should keep it.
If they do change, should they go with Camel or Marlboro - just to get that anti-cancer stink off of them?

Didn't get tix for the match, but I was out at Legends last night and there was such great energy everywhere (really wish that energy was somewhere near the urban core, but whatever). Great win, now let's GO GET THE CUP.

8 more years, then we can lobby for a downtown stadium.KCMax wrote:Didn't get tix for the match, but I was out at Legends last night and there was such great energy everywhere (really wish that energy was somewhere near the urban core, but whatever). Great win, now let's GO GET THE CUP.

Playoff game will air 2:30 on Sunday on Channel 41 (NBC). Will definitely be watching that rather than the mess of a football team that happens to play in our city.

Chiefs play on Thursday and Monday the next 2 weeks so they wouldn't have been on anyway

Our sports teams are cursed.
Re: 2012 Sporting Kansas City
Odds we gather enough goals Wednesday to offset the 0-2 drubbing at Houston?

Re: 2012 Sporting Kansas City
I'd put it at 25%. The only reason I aim that high is because we play a free-wheeling, high-intesity style of ball and I imagine that we will be very agressive in the early going. If we were a slow-paced possession team, we would be in trouble. I really don't know much about Houston overall, but I imagine that they will be pretty passive. It worked for them last year at LSP in the playoffs. Whereas last year, we were shellshocked at home, I'm hoping that our need to score at least two goals in regulation will keep us from playing tight like last year (and like yesterday @ Houston). That said, I bet Vermes has us play even keel for at least the first half to see if we can score early without giving up easy counter-attacks.smh wrote:Odds we gather enough goals Wednesday to offset the 0-2 drubbing at Houston?

Re: 2012 Sporting Kansas City
IIRC, Houston is pretty mediocre to bad on the road. We thrashed them pretty good, I believe 3-0 at Livestrong earlier this year.
Are they beginning to become our rival? I know Chicago is who we have the bad blood with, but Houston eliminated us last year, and we are locking horns with them again.

This match is intense. Was really planning on a goal the first half.
