Re: 2011 - 2012 College Football Season
I guess I'll put this here. I just found a fan tournament for college football rivalries on AZcentral.com. AZ point of view, and with all of the integrity of an internet poll, but K-State- KU was a bigger rivalry than Iowa-Minnesota, but less than Alabama-Auburn (big surprise) and KU-MU lost out to UNC-NC-State (did anyone realize that those schools had a football rivalry?)

Minnesota and Iowa have a rivalry? I guess it makes sense, I've just never thought about it before.

Every school in the B1G has a rivalry and a weird object at stake. Battle for the axe. Battle for the wooden jug. Battle for the leather shoe. Etc

"Former graduates"? Really? The victims were identified as Michael McCrimmons, 19, and Diondre Johnson, 19, both former graduates of Parkview High School in Springfield.

Re: 2011 - 2012 College Football Season
Cotton turns into a much better bowl game matchup wise.....all Big 12 schools end up getting screwed out of about $1.5M each with the Sugar's decision....quite a system.
Re: 2011 - 2012 College Football Season
Can't believe we have to watch another 9-6 game between LSU and Bama. I was really hoping to see how Okie State's offense did against LSU's D. I would've loved to have seen OSU beat them, and put to rest the love affair the media has with the SEC.

Big 12 should withdrawal from the BCS and negotiate with the new Cotton bowl and Jerry Jones to get the league champion every year. I have a feeling we are going to get screwed with only one team in the BCS going forward even though we are one of the best conferences.

I hate the SEC. Always have, always will. I was hoping OSU would kick LSU's butt back to their corrupt little state but had a feeling all along Alabama would get it.kcmetro wrote:Can't believe we have to watch another 9-6 game between LSU and Bama. Too bad Boise State lost to a good TCU team, that also would have been a good matchup.

Re: 2011 - 2012 College Football Season
OSU made their own bed by losing to 6-6 ISU. Alabama's only loss was to #1 LSU. But of course, the BCS has a history of screwing things up. NU vs Miami being the most glaring example.AllThingsKC wrote:Big Ten, ACC, SEC, Pac-12 all have 2 BCS teams. OSU blew it by giving the BCS the option of picking between two one loss teams. If OSU was undefeated, they would most likely have been playing LSU. But with the BCS, you really never know.

Go read the coaches poll votes. That's why.
