Re: 2012 MLB All-Star Game at The K
People need more confidence. Kc has a great history of hosting these events and expectations of kc are generally low so what usually happens is people are surprised they like kc
Only issue could be transportation to the game. That looks like an issue that they know of and are looking to solve early. All other events will he centralized at bartle and p&l.
BTW there should be plenty of chances to volunteer for these things.

My point is that is what the people with the defeatist attitude are saying. Those are not my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough when I said this:WSPanic wrote: I'm sorry I mistook your worrying and fretting about player boycotts and the WBC for having a defeatist attitude. Not sure how that happened.
or this:AllThingsKC wrote: Now, I suspect that as with Arizona, the ASG in Kansas City will be just fine.

the state of kansas should build a $200M temporary stadium out by the village west / speedway area to host this event. after the ASG it can host tractor pulls and baptist conventions.

You guys think it will be fun moving people from downtown to the stadium. Check out what these guys are going to pull off. Now they are spreading things out!

By the way, KC will do just fine hosting the ASG. KC will shine and the city will impress people as it always does. Just hope it's not 115 degrees.

Here's a good video today of all the bigwigs kicking off the countdown. Man, it sure is nice to hear THIS speech come from the mayor of KC... not the one we would have gotten last year...

Frankly it would have been embarrassing to have funk up there.
Re: 2012 MLB All-Star Game at The K
They should bump up Fringe Fest next year a week or two to overlap w/ the All-Star game.

The only negative thing I ever say or think about KC is our weather. However, after spending four glorious days in Lawton, Oklahoma (Ft. Sill) on business, I'll complain no more.

Well they were just in Phoenix and had to cancel the All-Star parade because of excessive heat.KCFutbol wrote: The only negative thing I ever say or think about KC is our weather. However, after spending four glorious days in Lawton, Oklahoma (Ft. Sill) on business, I'll complain no more.

And just what exactly do Republicans and massive surface parking lots have to do with the All Star Game?KCMax wrote: My money is on racial division. Or barbecue. Probably barbecue.

Damn, that '73 one is sweet. A little busy from a purely design perspective, but if you know what you're looking at, its fucking rad.

Hopefully, the logo we see tomorrow will have more than 2 colors.

Hey, I think that looks pretty good! I love that they incorporated the crown and had the points of it be stars for the All-Stars, cool touch. Awesome that it is in the scoreboard shape too - a very definite Royals feel to it.
Does anybody know if Metro Sports is showing the announcement this afternoon?
