KSU will play Florida in the "Orange Bowl Classic" with the Gators returning to play the Wildcats in a neutral site....possibly in Wichita or KC.

Disapointing night for Clemente and Collins. D-League it is I suppose. Also interesting to see Pritchard get ousted from Portland despite being hailed by many as the savior of the organization.
Re: 2010-2011 College Basketball Season
I heard on 810 that he was fired only an hour before Portland picked. They still had him run their draft for them. If I was him, I would've just picked Collins and told the owner to eat a dick.LenexatoKCMO wrote: Disapointing night for Clemente and Collins. D-League it is I suppose. More humorous towards Collins....guess nobody needs a portly point guard who disappears. Clemente never had a shot I didn't think.

Yeah, I have my doubts that D-league or wherever else he winds up playing will provide the sort of motivation and drive for him to keep up his conditioning. Its clear that he will always struggle when he isn't playing ball with a purpose every day.

Re: 2010-2011 College Basketball Season
I think Clemente has a decent shot at making a club after a tryout. He's a good ball handler, and those are still in short supply. Really, there isn't much difference between being drafted late in the 2nd round and being a undrafted free agent. Second round contracts aren't guaranteed.KCPowercat wrote: More humorous towards Collins....guess nobody needs a portly point guard who disappears. Clemente never had a shot I didn't think.
Collins I hear is overweight again, so that will probably kill his chances of NBA rosterdom. Go to Europe and lose some weight.
I think Aldrich landed in a really good spot. OKC needs a big man bad, and they don't need Aldrich to score much, just grab 8-10 boards a game, clog the lane and block a few shots. And they're going to be damn good next year.
X has a chance I think to be a solid shooter off the bench but I can't see him being more than that. He can't create his shot and is soft on defense. Still, you can make a nice living being a 6-7 PPG off the bench wing player.
I think James Anderson, Ekpe Udoh and Avery Bradley have a good shot at being decent pros. Don't really see it for Damion James, Tiny Gallon or Willie Warren.

Sherron is trying out with the Charlotte Bobcats. He actually has a shot to make that team - they could use depth at PG, especially if Felton is dealt.

Or maybe they are trying to get a 'lil red' style mascot?

Dominique Sutton leaving KSU. Says its to be closer to his kids in NC, but rumors are its because of his work ethic.
Omari Lawrence of St. John's will transfer to K-State and take Sutton's scholarship.

Interesting that he wants to play somewhere close to home in Durham - would any of the Big four NC teams give him a schollie?

They were saying on 810 a D-II school is more likely so he doesn't have to sit out since he's entering his senior year and will be 24 already this fall.LenexatoKCMO wrote: Interesting that he wants to play somewhere close to home in Durham - would any of the Big four NC teams give him a schollie?

The Mayor has picked up a significant transfer in the form of sticky-fingered, Minnesota reject, Royce White:
