THey need to get Iowa St. to host some year.  They travel in droves and are local.
Might be too much of a gamble for the Cyclones to win the two "gimme" games to reach the finals

so i guess concession issues were fixed by last night?  no running out of food and ridiculous lines?
KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.

My gal bought a pretzel - it was bone cold, never warmed up.

Tall beer cups ran out.  Smaller ones available for $6 instead of the larger ones for only $7.  I wouldn't say the food/beer/service was anything special at all.

Without a significant line, I still waited about 5-10 minutes for my food.

Boy, if there were troubles like this at Kemper when the city operated it there were calls all around for an investigation into what went wrong and blame being thrown everywhere.

Funny, now it is just a little sidebar.

Oh, c'mon.  Isn't this the first sporting event ever hosted there?  Wouldn't you agree that concession stands do more business during sports than during concerts?  So this was the first real heavy run for the concessions.  I'll give them a break this once, but yeah, they need to figure things out.

I'm guessing they were all concerned about parking instead of this.

But AEG knows how to run arenas.  The organization has all of this experience running all kinds of sporting events.  BT has worked all kinds of sporting events.  So there is all kinds of experience for AEG to draw on to get it right, and to get it right the first time.

Hey, anyway, the major point is sometimes, no matter what, you, meaning an arena, are caught with your pants down and the numbers you were expecting was lower than what actually came.  When it happened at Kemper about 5 to 6 years ago many a politican made some hay over it and scored some hits without even looking into what really happened.

Man, i really wanted a team after going last nite.  I know it's not going to happen but it would've been fun to see Sid Kid skating around in that palace, with P&L right across the street.

Damn shame.

Its just a learning curve for them. They will have all the data for the next big sporting event to order more food and supplies. But for the cold pretzels ewe. people want them nice and warm. I hope they have their act together next Friday.

2007:  Missouri - as it should have been.  Major in state program gets first honor.
2008:  KU
2009:  KSU

Not sure about 2010 on.

They should try to incorporate some of the MVC powerhouses too - I know Creighton and Missouri State have been here in the past. Wichita State needs to make a trip.

Screw that, nobody in KC is going to get a hard-on thinking about seeing MO State play hoops.

Yea, but you'll probably get out of town fans to make the trip.

I think you'll get a decent showing from the Wichita State crowd....but Valley schools are not even 1/2 the size of the Power Conf schools, and with 18K seats at Sprint Center we need that built-in size advantage to sell it out.

Well I meant an MVC school paired with a Big XII school, I didn't mean the MVC would be the main attraction.

Sprint Center was full when MU played - Joemoney of Kansas is a retard.

Just wanted to give KC kudos again for great attendance at the CBE Classic, even with two non-local teams playing in the title game. I was watching the "Big East/SEC" invitational last night on ESPN in Philadelphia and their arena was EMPTY for a local team - 21st ranked Villanova. It was pathetic.

KC is a pretty darn good college basketball town.
