OK, I'm at a loss...I search and search for a good downtown restaurant that serves stuff like deli sandwiches, soups, etc. past 3pm. A place similiar to a Panera bread.....

anybody, anybody? It's getting winter and I need some good soup. I know they have to be down here, it's like the cheapest type of restaurant to open.

Suggestions?

Probably not much in the loop. You could try Garrett's or the Cup & Saucer in the River Market.

There is a new deli opening in the Crossroads very soon. Not sure what their hours or menu will be.

I'm just talking downtown City Market to Crown Center....

Garretts is a good suggestion...they don't seem to have much as far as deli stuff....2 soups daily though

Cup & Saucer doesn't list any soups which I thought they would have.

I also forgot the Walnut Deli. I think they're staying open until 6 or 7. Good grilled sandwiches. Not sure on the soup selection.

I believe that Garrett's has a create-your-own-sandwich, so you can get pretty much anything you want.

The Bronx in Crown Center is open late isn't it, I know it's not the loop though.
