A developer is interested in turning this half-empty office building into condominiums.

wow, why would a modern building like that (1970s though) be built to condos? Maybe US Bank is gonna build something else downtown ;)

1970's Bldgs. to Condos

Post by GuyInLenexa »

Here are two other projects of 1970's buildings being converted to condos on a site from Fort Worth TX.
One is over the old BankOne building that was heavily damaged in a tornado.

You will need to scroll down
And plans for the old Tandy Center (now Radio Shack)

Both BankOne and Tandy are building new facilities to replace both of these structures.
I hope USBank will also, but in this economic climate it may be unlikely in the near future.

lol, I asked city hall, I think I did...
I just need someone to go into the stairs and measure exactly from the carpet to the next floors "carpet" and tell me that measurement, then I will know the exact height.

that building is so ugly...i wish it would be demolished and replaced by a more street friendly building...that brown/poop color metal and green/glass makes for one beautiful building! :puke:

the bottom is pretty street friendly with the bottom cutout and the 2-3 story glass atrium...now the building itself is pretty ugly.

I think it is awsome. (Colors aside, maybe) How many other buildings can you think of that are on stilts? (Other than CitiGroup in NYC)? I personally se no reason to tear it down if it is in good condition.

i've contacted a woman from the Building Owners and Managers
Association asking about 10-11 buildings around KC, if I can't find anything there, ill have to go to the public library and look in newspapers and such.
