EDC approves new chairman, board members
The Economic Development Corp. of Kansas City on Friday approved the
appointment of John Laney as its new chairman and Dave Frantze and Jim
Glover as new board members.
Laney is vice president of the Hall Family Foundation, which ranks No. 3
on The Business Journal's list of the Top 25 area charitable trusts and
foundations. He also is involved in many civic organizations, including
the Downtown Council of Kansas City, which he chairs.
Frantze, a partner with Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, will represent the
Civic Council of Kansas City on the EDC board. He replaces Herman
Johnson.
Glover replaces Kansas City Councilman Jim Rowland.
Still to be named is a replacement on the EDC board for Barry Brady, a
senior vice president with Highwoods Properties Inc. Brady had
represented the Civic Council.
