Denver - starter home shortage

Post by earthling » Tue Mar 22, 2016 11:20 am

Interesting article...
A starter home in metro Denver costs more than a high-end home in Detroit or El Paso, Texas, but a premium home in Denver is lower than a starter home in San Francisco.

We have a similar problem in Oregon. Rental housing is even worse.

I looked at Denver for quite a while before moving to KC a few years ago. Finding a nice 4 bedroom in a good school district was crazy, and the value of the KC suburbs easily won out. I'm happy with the decision, I really don't think Denver is worth that kind of premium.

I still look at the suburbs around SF/San Jose, but in the current market they are a total fantasy.
