Was in town yesterday and the city is looking great. Top two things on my list. Streetcar and do something with 480 through downtown.

$290 million park/riverfront revitalization ... it's updating Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park, and Lewis and Clark Landing, which personally I think are pretty cool spaces already today, but there are some great improvements happening with this, including hiding the railroad tracks which have historically separated downtown from the riverfront and making for a space which can host concerts/large public events. A lot of private funding, city will only need to put up $50 million.

Omaha already had a good connection to the river, this will make it tremendous! Wish KC could at least do a similar cover of the train tracks on the river bank.

I visited Omaha back in 2012 or 13 - a couple years after TD Ameritrade Stadium hosted it's first CWS. Downtown, including the Old Market, was looking fantastic. This is going to take the renewal to the next level.

Photobucket revamped their website, and changed the amount of storage for free accounts. It appears the feature that allowed you to enlarge, and zoom, is gone, as it the larger-sized file. I'm sorry about that. I don't use Photobucket anymore to post. I don't even know if I still have that original file anymore. It's probably on an old computer.

Twin condo towers proposed for Council Bluffs Iowa.
two, 15-story residential towers with a common 2-story podium totaling 400,000 SF. The project is served by a central plant water source heat pump loop providing heating and cooling to individual living units as well as common spaces. Each living unit is equipped with a 2-ton water-to-air heat pump. Dedicated outside air-handling systems are used for ventilation of living and common spaces. DLR Group provided architecture, interior design, and structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

This is the only rendering I could find that gets close to showing the pedestrian experience.

No it’s going to be downtown. There is going to be a streetcar line running from 10th street downtown, past their current midtown campus, all the way to Saddle Creek where UNMC is located.

Wow. congrats to Omaha. I wish we had one business committed to DT. Instead our local newspaper is telling us not to invest in DT.

Maybe we can extend TIF downtown to fund a line down Linwood or to Brookside

Reminds me of that tall building in Oklahoma City. So tall you can't miss it.
