You could totally refrain from posting news like this on this board, like forever, and the world would not be worse off from it. For real.

From a Lake Message Board I can't disclose specifics, but they are definitely coming & it'll most likely be at a new development. We're also getting a Red Lobster & Nordstroms. It's just a matter of time. I can't wait for Kohl's.

Near the old Wal-Mart and Hardee's there are plans for Best Buy, Kohl's, etc.  Near Denny's at Business and Hwy 54 there are plans for other retail stores.  Something similar to Bass Pro, possibly a new Wal-Mart supercenter, etc.

Maybe for someone who lives in or near the Ozarks year 'round and has no plans of ever leaving, this is probably good and exciting news.  But for me, when i'm in the Ozarks, the last thing I want to see around me are chain businesses.

I like going to non-chain restaurants and shops (when I bother getting away from the lake house, that is).  I like not having to see the same old chains I could see anywhere in any suburban area, so it's really hard for me to say "Yay!" when I hear about them opening in or near the Ozarks, y'know?  :?

Many of my relatives from the Warsaw area dislike chains greatly under the pretense that many independent joints that have been around for a long time begin to suffer.

Must just be a Lake of the Ozarks thing to like big-box places.

I meant happy enough to make a damn thread about it, in a forum that tends to be pretty anti-big box.
