Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
I know things are slow on the KC development scene but I hope things have not devolved to the point that we are discussing the next Arby's franchise in Salem Missouri.
I once lived briefly in a small town in Texas....they actually had a parade when a McDonalds finally opened. Gawd, that was podunk.
Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
Who cares? An Arby's opening isn't even news if it's in KCMO, much less some far out place in MO.

Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
I remember the days when we actually talked about real development, not a fucking Sonic or Arby's getting a repaved parking lot.

If it wasn't for Funkhouser, it would be Kansas City getting that Arby's, not Salem!!!!

I must be the only person who got the author's intent here in starting this thread.

Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
Actually, Rolla has quite a few good independent food spots, especially in *gasp* the old town center. And they are a good break from what's served at the student center.
Though without the school, it would probably barely be a truck stop, complete with the celebrations over a new fast food joint opening.

Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
But, how will Salem be able to support an Arby's when it's so far from Johnson County?
KC is the way to be!
Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
Then how would Lebanon support maybe another McDonalds,Kohls,Target and so on by Ruseell Stover that's by the new 127 Bridge exit?
Re: Rolla and other parts of MO
OKC has 183 Arby's stores. How many do you all have?

Its bad enough when the Okies come on to talk smack on KC, but do they really need to start picking on poor little Rolla/Salem?Spartan65 wrote: OKC has 183 Arby's stores. How many do you all have?
