I know things are slow on the KC development scene but I hope things have not devolved to the point that we are discussing the next Arby's franchise in Salem Missouri.

I once lived briefly in a small town in Texas....they actually had a parade when a McDonalds finally opened.  Gawd, that was podunk.

Who cares?  An Arby's opening isn't even news if it's in KCMO, much less some far out place in MO.

I remember the days when we actually talked about real development, not a fucking Sonic or Arby's getting a repaved parking lot.

If it wasn't for Funkhouser, it would be Kansas City getting that Arby's, not Salem!!!!

Actually, Rolla has quite a few good independent food spots, especially in *gasp* the old town center. And they are a good break from what's served at the student center.

Though without the school, it would probably barely be a truck stop, complete with the celebrations over a new fast food joint opening.

But, how will Salem be able to support an Arby's when it's so far from Johnson County?

Its bad enough when the Okies come on to talk smack on KC, but do they really need to start picking on poor little Rolla/Salem?
