Abandoned Kansas City Star Article
I have no idea why I just remembered this, but years ago the Star ran a story about what would happen to KC if humanity vanished. It had a big picture showing a shot from the south doctored to represent the city at various stages of decay. I remember it was very interesting, but for some reason I don't think I kept it. I'm thinking it was the early 2000s, because they mentioned the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes movie as an example of post-civilization science fiction, so that movie must have still been relevant.

Just go to the East Side of either KCMO or KCK to see the progression of urban abandonment.

Yeah, The Day After. Apparently Reagan watched it and it affected him so much he actually changed his position on some policy.Riverite wrote:Wasn't there an old sci-fy flick in the 70's or 80's set in kc after a nuclear holocaust

Yeah, it sounds familiar to me too. Best bet on finding it would be one of the databases that MCPL subscribes to that contains all Star articles since like 1990 or so... it wouldn't have pictures but it'd have text at least.
