Where to buy historic KC prints?

Post by KC-wildcat »

Looking for some historic KC prints (early 20th Century).  I know that public library has an archive, but it seems like searching all of their images would be too immense of a project to fit into my schedule.  Any thoughts?  If somebody has a good lead, I'm specifically looking for, among other things, a panoramic/landscape style photograph.

Posters, Lithographs, Postcards would also work.

Might try www.oldkc.com. They begin in the 40s I believe. You have to have some to share to get a username or pay $7 or something.

allposters.com has a good selection of blow-ups from old KC postcards,  especially the deco skyscrapers.

The library is what I've always used. You can buy high res files and have them printed wherever you'd like. I don't recall how much they are but something like $20 each.

The library will conduct the research for you, for a fee.

You may want to check out Spivey's in Westport.
If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

Wilbourn & Associates.  Check out their stock image library.  Shooting KC since 1921.

http://www.wilbornfoto.com/

BTW they have many thousands of photos available for purchase, but only a few shown on their website.  Located just west of 31st and SW Trafficway.
