Bannister Mall: Urban exploring the pre-demolished
No breaking and entering on our part, if you were wondering. We were in there legally.
You know, Dude, I myself dabbled in pacifism once. Not in 'Nam of course.

Thanks for posting... the dead mall wave across the country is a fascinating thing to ponder.

Thanks for these photos! How were you able to get in there at all (even legally)?

Just needs a little dusting and TLC.
Re: Bannister Mall: Urban exploring the pre-demolished
I also thank you for the post! Seeing this in this stage is heartbreaking. Looks to be a lot of stuff that can be used. Hope they (whoever that is) recycle/reuse most of it instead of dumping it in the land fill.

Nice job, cool pics! Pretty sad to see...but artsy somehow too. What is with all those IDs? Discarded from pickpocketers?
Re: Bannister Mall: Urban exploring the pre-demolished
So many lost memories came crashing back!
I was thinking about how much brick is in that place, hope they can salvage it, maybe use it for paving.

Interesting pics.
To think, just a decade ago, that place was pretty active.

Or China Syndrome ......the Walmart story.. Low prices, crap products made in China with child labor that no one can compete with, or would want to!

Wow that is sad.
Curious as to how you got in legally? I would love to go in there and get pictures.

This is where my high school senior year girlfriend worked. In 1996. That wasn't that long ago, was it?TheBigChuckbowski wrote:

Couldn't they have at least moved the train set before they closed the mall?

Wow, I've never been inside...but I have to say...I actually expected it to be more of a dump! Is it just me, or does anyone else get these urges to buy a dying mall to make their home? I mean, how cool would that be...imagine what you could do with a million or so sq ft! The going rates like what...3.5 mil (if that..) to buy Metro North...with at least I'd say 800,000 sq ft...that's like 4 bucks a ft!!!

I've been wanting to see what the inside of that place looks like now so bad. Thanks for sharing.
I can't be getting into mischief like that now since I'm married with a kid. It wouldn't be civil. sigh.
