You still live in NE Side right? Which in the list above are worth checking out?
The ratio of Mexi/LatinAmerican seems rather high for how much diversity there is on NE Side - more Mexi than any stretch in KCK. Would think some of those Mexi places that don't make it could switch over to others that represent population. There are a lot of E Africans, SE Asians (especially Laotian) and I believe Bosnians, right? Though to your point it would appear that Mexi has more broad appeal to all.

I do. This probably comes off as a bit of a cop-out, and I haven't tried them all, but in my experience they tend to be FAR more hit than miss so it seems likely that most of them are worth checking out. My top favorite spots never seem to make it very long, I'm not sure whether this means I have bad taste or it's simply due to the fact that restaurants are more likely to fail than succeed. I still miss La Hamburguesa Loca dearly, although I do see their truck sometimes.
There is a lot of diversity, yes, I just don't know if there are large enough populations to support restaurants that all but the most adventurous gringos will likely avoid or, even more likely, never even know about before they fail.

Hey Mean - have you been to any of the taco places on St. John Ave? I've been to Guerro, but still need to try Los Altos de Jalisco. I think they're open for lunch and then close again and reopen sometimes for dinner/late night. I remember trying and failing once and I haven't been back.

I haven't, although I hear good things about Guerro. Do they actually have seating though?

I think they throw a table and few chairs on the sidewalk - but no real seating. If memory serves, it's all through a walk up window. I don't even think there's an inside. But the were good tacos.

Now that's street eats. Downtown needs some of that.

Thanks!
Wish they would have sorted by location, but it'll give me something to do some night.

I tried California Taco shop the other day on a friend recommendation that their breakfast was good. I didn't get much out of it.

I can't get away from Mission Taco Joint in E Xroads. The Stockyards Brewing Cervezas Royale with their mushroom tacos is killer. And their fresh salsa is fire.
Need to get to the newer south Plaza location before summer is over too.
