I wish that building would get rid of the smoke shop. If you combined the two sections into one restaurant I think it would do alright. It could be similar to a Taco Republic or Pizza 50-type place.

Poco's is open. Like the counter streetmex vibe of the place. The owner is running the place herself and still has the two best cooks. The chorizo bfast tacos are just as good as the old place, essentially the same. To cut costs/staff she now uses styrofoam plates/coffee cups and plastic forks - yeah, wasteful but no need for dishwasher.

I work nearby and I've been twice now for carryout. Once for lunch, once for breakfast (same thing as you...delicious). Really hope they make it.

The tamales are quite good but ask when made cause one time they were dry, other times were moist.
They will also make carnitas street tacos if you ask (pork, cilantro, onion and lime wedge on warmed soft corn tortillas) - also ask for the verde salsa. You get gringo tacos with lettuce by default, so be specific if you want 'street' tacos. They also do mahi mahi fish tacos, but not quite proper (lettuce instead of cabbage) but still good. Neither are on menu. You can ask them to make many things not on menu if not busy.

Saw a sign that Minsky's is going in the old Poco's location on Southwest Boulevard.
