The Stables also closed this week. I think that leaves two dive bars downtown -- Zoo and Red Front?

Whoah, that's kinda surprising. I haven't been there in a year or so but from what I've seen every time I walk by they seemed to have been doing decent business.

And yeah, that would be about it, at least inside the loop. Unless you count The Peanut, The Quaff, or the ground level of John's Deck. (I don't.)

Just found out that Cork & Brew on Liberty Square closed a week or so ago. There's something about that building. Absolutely nothing makes it there.

Is it true that Mimi's @ Zona Rosa closed? This chain went way downhill when they were bought out a year or so ago. When they take away tablecloths and sprigs of flowers food quality is next.

Wonder if they will convert it to a Bob Evans? It was BE who bought out Mimi's a while ago.

Rambo's on Independence Ave didn't make it. Was a fun little place - good burgers and fried chicken. They couldn't make it work on Independence Avenue. A friend said they were considering a midtown location, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that.

Damn. I heard it was really good and kept meaning to hit it, but never managed to actually do it. Sad.

Sad, as much as it goes against this group's elite standards a thriving downtown needs fast food options. I'll miss "Hey Buddy!". I haven't been there in a few years since I no longer work across the street, but really liked the couple that runs it.
