this would indeed require some money, but i dont see too much risk! that would be such a great space for a concept like this, and of course i know you would do a top-notch job with it. i think it would be a home run.Jill ja wrote: Loma is an awesome store front.....I would love to put a multi level pub in there and keep the Loma Vista Hardware name...Just too much money and risk.....

Good to hear. Thanks for the correction - glad I was wrong.voltopt wrote: I just went to El Rancho on Tuesday night... I work across the street and this place and KC Pita do decent lunch business.
If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
I know westport is still somewhat of a suburban draw and less of a neighborhood, but i find it to have almost anything I need in a medium to low density neighborhood.
The walk score, however spurious the methods are, is intriguing. I centered this at westport road and pennsylvannia, which picks up 39th to 43rd, summit to main... which is a half mile radius. Pretty impressive!

Ok, the story has now been updated with a correction/apology on top. They are not closed, but cannot have any violations for 6 months.PumpkinStalker wrote: Wow, they're actually closed. I thought the "probation" meant they couldn't have any violations between a certain time frame, but apparently that means they close?!

Does selling roids in the Gold's Gym locker room really count as working? JK of course.voltopt wrote: I work across the street and this place and KC Pita do decent lunch business.

Yes! but then I wouldn't have any fun drinking Sunday afternoon beers in it! I'll let someone else do it

Re: Closed Bars and Restaurants
not a bar, not a restaurant. Couldn't find an existing thread on the place (surprising in retrospect....).
The Pistol Social Club is dead.
The Foundation Room apparently will continue though.... so that's some solace.
It was a pretty strange place, I enjoyed it the times i went, and the eclectic crowd that showed up (from dirty young hipsters to older Brookside couples). It really was a solid example of what a DIY music/arts scene could look like, only wish there were more like it.

KC Region is all part of the same animal regardless of state and county lines.
Think on the Regional scale.

It would make a great billard hall type bar too.
There is no fifth destination.
