Shawnee seeks district devoted to bioscience
Shawnee is vying for a larger piece of the biotechnology economy with a proposed development corridor that includes a laboratory complex for startup companies.
The Johnson County city is the first in the state to seek the creation of a bioscience district providing development incentives under the two-year-old Kansas Economic Growth Act....
The proposed district is bordered roughly by 75th Street to the south, Kansas 7 to the west, Silverheel Street to the east and the Shawnee Crossings office and retail park along 69th Street to the north.
