It was reported on the Channel 9 News at 10 pm tonight that overall crime in KCK has gone down every year since 1995. In fact, the overall crime rate is how half of what it was in 1995. The number of murders, rapes, and robberies have all gone down. KCK Police attribute it to increased involvement by citizens and community groups in helping law enforcement fight crime.
I think this is great news, and if crime continues to decrease, KCK may have turned the corner and be on the way back.

Not only that, but the mayor is proposing a 6% cut in property taxes. Both f these developments are excellent news for KCK.

The mayor cut taxes last year, but oddly enough, the value of every house in KCK rose enough so that we all ended up paying more taxes than the year before.
