This space has been the subject of discussion and rumored speculation for the past 2 or 3 years. Everything from Monkey Business to Sprouts to some sort of fitness club chain.

Just bring back Dillon's already. :D

I'm sure there is some part of the deal that Kroger made with Price Chopper that says that Kroger can't build any new stores in JoCo and Price Chopper can't move into Topeka for a certain period of time. Kroger was making no effort to be competitive in JoCo, Joplin, or Springfield and that's why they got out when the chance presented itself. I honestly can't see why they keep the Gerbes stores in Columbia and Jeff City open or Bakers in Nebraska. They're all old stores that are tiny compared to the competition.

Earlier this week, I heard discussion that the large corner space on the west end of Heritage Square was still being looked at by Sutherland's Hardware. Is it possible the large space could be developed into a space for both a hardware and a grocery store?

The 127th/Mur-Len project sounds very interesting. That corner needs something, that's for sure.

Lion's Choice in Olathe at 135th/Greenwood is close. They've been slowed mainly by weather, but hope to be operating by end of December.
