Someone is trying to do something with it.

I don't expect it will happen though. And even if it did I'd be surprised if it were successful.
Indian Springs Mall
Re: Indian Springs Mall
It's almost laughable how the gentleman says he doesn't want to have to pay any of the costs - that should be pushed off on the developer or government.
Re: Indian Springs Mall
That article is confused. The Indian Springs post office was at a shoddy strip mall "near 49th Street", not at Indian Springs mall, which is east of 47th St, the major north-south street intersecting State Ave in the area. Not that it's that important, but it leaves the question which site is being discussed regarding the acquatics park.

Re: Indian Springs Mall
It's 2017 and the mall is a big mostly flat gravel surface. Last time I was by it late last year it was a big dirt hole.
Let the new development plans that look better than they end up being begin

Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/news/business ... 04778.htmlLane4 Property Group, a Kansas City real estate firm, is proposing to develop 26 acres of flex/tech office and light industrial space on the southern part of the former Indian Springs Mall site in Kansas City, Kan.
Axis Point Developers I, a special business entity formed by partners of Lane4, is due before a committee of the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kan., on Monday evening to present its development plans that would occupy a portion of the dead mall site, which was demolished last year.
The project consists of 350,000 square feet of light industrial development and what’s called “flex/tech” office space, which is office space that often accompanies industrial or warehouse facilities.

Also at issue is the timeline for completing the four-phase development called KC Foodie Park. An affiliate of Scavuzzo's Inc., a food service company based in Kansas City, Kan., wants to start with a warehouse distribution building for Scavuzzo's followed by retail, restaurant and entertainment options along State Avenue. The third phase would include commercial development and the final phase would add a corporate headquarters building for Scavuzzo's, which wouldn't be slated to open until 2031.
