I wonder how this would affect Zona Rosa especially in the summer, and winter months. I was there on June 26th and it was hot that day, and I noticed the shopping center was pretty much dead at the time that I was there. I also noticed that the trees there are not yet mature enough to provide much shade, and there are not enough green spaces.
I like the idea of outdoor shopping, but in KC it has to be done right for the extreme climate. I think I would have eliminated the automobile roadway through Zona Rosa, and made it a more marketplace like setting with awnings and canopies so you get that outdoor feel, but are protected from the elements.
So, with a possible new Metro North Mall, Zona Rosa may have to rethink their current approach, and fix what is wrong.
