Subtropolis to become new technology data center

SubTropolis' new data center tenant could invest $80M
SubTropolis stood out because of its ability to withstand natural disasters, even F5 tornadoes, and other security threats. It also had the fiber and electrical power capacity that LightEdge will need initially and in the future as its client list expands.

Mike Bell, general manager for Hunt Midwest’s industrial/commercial development division, said SubTropolis Technology Center is served by dark fiber capable of carrying 80 10-gigabit-per-second waves. That’s a quantum leap over the 1-gigabit service Google is bringing to residential customers in town with its national launch of Google Fiber in Kansas City.
...SubTropolis, where tenants occupy 5 million square feet, has designated 400,000 square feet for its new technology center. But its expansion potential is almost limitless, Reynolds said.
