This will be a boon for the Special Underwear businesses in the Northland.
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
I live in the north and there are 2 Mormon households on the cul-de-sac. With this temple its going to become shear mormoniacal. I can see a turf war erupting in my hood between the Saints and La Cosa Nostra.

Did some public records searching. Looks like the Mormon church owns the land at the southeast corner of I-435 / MO-152. The highlighted area depicts the land listed as owned by the church. I'm guessing it will be there.

Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
The correct Shoal Creek Valley location is highlighted in the LDS news release. Going North on 435 Exit at Shoal Creek Parkway turn LEFT cross above 435 and find a newly constructed and well landscaped traffic circle, that is the entrance to the temple property and also the connector to the Searcy Creek Parkway. If you keep driving you will find the new KC police training center and NE HQ.
The site is very high in elevation, the temple will be seen for miles.
Remember as noted in other posts, the Mormon church owns thousands of acres of land west of Liberty.

Keep searching, your "Redlined Area" is just a portion of the total property owned.JaseFifty1 wrote: Posted this in another thread...

Dunn gets contract. Will be similar to $20 million Idaho Falls Temple.
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
Oops, its Twin Falls.
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
Just to make this clear, according to the press release the temple will not be built where the outline in the picture above is. It will be built further west of that point.

Why are people fascinated with this? Don't most religions have some sort of weird shit or other?mizzouboard.info wrote: This will be a boon for the Special Underwear businesses in the Northland.

Yes they do. When it's so indoctrinated though, it doesn't seem weird to the person believing it.wetpaint wrote: Why are people fascinated with this? Don't most religions have some sort of weird shit or other?
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
name one other religion that has magic underwear.
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
I actually wish this were being built in a more prominent location. These are usually very pretty buildings, judging by the Mormon Temple of Missouri on Hwy 40/64 in StL and some of the examples on their website.
are we spinning free?

There's a magic shroud in Turin with the image of Jesus on it. I know it isn't underwear, but I don't think Victoria's Secret was around when they made the shroud.bbqboy wrote: name one other religion that has magic underwear.
Many native religions would have had special clothes for rituals.
They still dress up to hunt the wren in the British Isles.
Republicans have magic flag lapel pins.
Re: Mormon Temple Announced for Shoal Creek Valley
I would agree with you to a point. I believe that while this building may not be in the best spot "now", that 15 years from now this will be quite a sight. Its going to be right off a nice boulevard, and surrounded by 2 story and less housing, with might I add...I435 less than a quarter mile away. Thats right, this should bring along some masterful views in a few more years.rxlexi wrote: I actually wish this were being built in a more prominent location.
