So, here's the rundown and highlights:

- $230M price tag
- 15 synthetic fields
- Mixed use village, whatever that means
- Mostly LS city owned land with a bit of private thrown in.
- A bit of it expands into KCMO
- Plan for rail/trail access on Rock Island line.

So we are at a point where Youth Sports complexes are costing almost as much as Baseball Stadiums?

Paragon Star, the $250 million sports complex-anchored project in Lee’s Summit, is pushing forward.

William Brown, the project coordinator for Paragon Star, told the Kansas City Business Journal on Thursday that the project is gaining more traction now that its associated transportation development district has been approved, which will help with infrastructure. Brown and Flip Short are the developers of Paragon Star, which submitted a preliminary development plan for a portion of the project to Lee's Summit earlier this week.

The project has two parts: a sports complex that includes 10 regulation soccer fields, and a commercial development with retail, restaurants, hotels and apartments. Brown said the team is completing its mass grading across the 100-acre development. He anticipates the soccer fields will be open for games in the spring of 2020.

Would be great if all ten soccer fields had a grandstand - its what makes me mad about OPSC.

Is a Ferris wheel that will never happen required in a percentage of all conceptual documents?

Who wouldn't want to ride a Ferris wheel in an East Jax greenfield. Imagine the fantastic views of trees and parking. Very nice.

The siblings riding it will be able to see the games going on. Which is totally the point.

I don't get the ferris wheel. I'm sure it's just for the renderings and will never happen.

Unless the ferris wheel will be free, it's a commercial venture too.

Be careful, mgsports. That response is revealingly cogent.

The Commercial I'm talking about is either Retail or Restaurant.

The ferris wheel in Atlanta has a chick-fil-a on site. The Navy Pier ferris wheel sells photos. I don't see that there's a difference anymore between an attraction, retail and residential
