If it doesn't have street-level retail, it's an abortion.

^^ Thanks for Posting that, I had no idea. A nice extension for the previous parks program that closed the drive to auto traffic from Friday pms to Sunday pm!

This is a great and needed deterrent to dumpers, drinkers and druggies!

There is going to be an open house cocktail party on Saturday, May 22, from 4-8 pm for a nice 2-story Victorian in Pendleton Heights, built in 1895, that has been completely remodeled.

The house has a 10-year tax freeze. Property taxes are $682.

The house has three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, laundry room, a full basement, central air, 2272 sq. feet of space, and is priced at $199,500.

Scroll down to Blog Archive for other KC pix.  There are lots of pictures of old homes, etc.

This blog does have some interesting stuff.

Let see if it sells. My Realtor said May was a disaster for closings all over KC.

Warren knows a lot I hope he is right but seeing that for 2009 we had 3,957,643 and they expected 2010 to be worst I do not think it will turn around soon. I hope I am wrong.

I've noticed that all three houses on Maple Ct are now for sale. Does anybody know who owns that large house on the corner of Maple Blvd and Maple Ct? Is it a multi-family or single family? From the looks of the roof line it looks like it's been renovated from a victorian into a plantation style house with a stone facade.

I can't help you out, but I know Anthony Marstall recently renovated one of those homes there. alpha_glamourina might be able to answer your question, however.

what a cool house!  we checked it out yesterday.  we're theoretically down with moving to Northeast (though we are trying to stay in Hyde Park), but the location of this particular place was just a bit too much to bear for us.  100 ft. from independence ave, surrounded on nearly all sides by what appear to be sketchy apartment buildings, and, to top it all off, three seconds after we pulled up out front this zoned-out andrew mccarthy looking dude walked up and tried to get in the backseat of our car.  it's really a shame - it looks like a stellar house, but we are not quite that "pioneering" i guess.  there is an absolutely immaculate, 5,000+ sq ft. house on a double lot right next to it - a shining beacon on an otherwise iffy block.  if the house were farther north even a block, we would probably seriously consider it.  dang.

posted here to see if we can get the house to a good owner!  (i know the house is technically in scarritt-renaissance, but close enough...)

Chizow, you might look at this house in the Historic Northeast on Gladstone Boulevard. It fronts a park, and is well away from Independence Avenue, and the price has come down $26,000.

Here is the location.

I can't find a link right now, but there is a larger, two-story, stucco, house 2 blocks east of the museum, on Gladstone, that is being offered for under $80,000.

It needs some work, but it is a rock-built home with great materials and an amazing location.

If I were looking................
