Anybody know why they decided to tear down the old gas station?  I mean it sat like that for years.  Why now all of the sudden?  Is there something going to happen on that corner?

This is one building I'd rather see as a grassy lot or parking lot.

The owner probably caught on to DST's strategy.  Why pay taxes on land and improvements when they only have to pay taxes on land by tearing down the building?  Besides, tearing down the building probably increased the value of the property.

wonder if there was a tax break/economic incentive to do this. Hope this lot can turn into something more than the garden across the street. Next to go...the hair salon (hopefully).

Caymus Real Estate LLC has contracted to buy 2.1 acres at 51st and Main streets and is eyeing the prime location south of the Country Club Plaza for a possible mixed-use apartment project.

The site, along 51st Street from Baltimore Avenue to Main Street, is a community garden owned by DST Systems Inc.

would like to see either row houses, mid-rise buildings or even something similar to the new student housing buildings near pizza 51.

Maybe it won't look so traditional.  Also, would be nice if it were at least 5 stories.  At least the parking deck is internal at Mission Farms.  That would be a nice feature.
