Noticed that these are poping up like crazy all over the Midwest except in the KC area. Lots of stores in the works in St Louis, Omaha and Milwaukee Metro's. Seems like this would be perfect in the KC Metro. Its like a Trader Joe's/Whole Foods Hybrid. Would be perfect in Westport, Liberty, North Kansas City, and even Eastern Jackson County.
Wonder how these compare to Sprouts? Maybe the Sprouts build out prevented Fresh Thyme from expanding here

Let's kick that church out of the dark sad old Osco/Katz on 39th/Main and get us a Fresh Thyme! Still the perfect location for such a place, especially with Thriftway closing. Sad so underutilized.

Would be nice addition to KC but KC is one of the most difficult markets for new grocery brands to enter given very low margins to compete in the area. It may have to be a specialty store that people want to work. If Fresh Thyme is unique enough, could work. A Midtown location certainly would succeed given no Trader Joe's.
How are FT's prices? TJ's not only has very good products, the prices are typically inline with branded products and some things even cheaper (good grade of spanish saffron half the price as other places). Most specialty stores like GreenAcres/Sprouts/Whole Foods price at a premium.

For all the grocery stores around I cannot believe Hen House and Sun Fresh are still in Business. They are vastly overpriced. I guess another thing that hurts us in this market in getting something like a Fresh Thyme is the Walmart Neighborhood Market footprint and they got into this area early.
