I feel like the plans to demolish Chouteau Court have been around forever. It's literally been years. What the hell?
If they decided to keep them it would be okay with me. My favorite housing project in the city.

The reason they have to be demolished is that they were constructed on fill dirt that wasn't allowed to settle long enough. The building foundations are shifting as a result, and cracks are forming in the buildings, facades, and interior walls.

Chouteau Court has also operated as a holding pen for the least. Especially the corral of buildings west of Paseo and north of Independence Avenue. When you end up living here, you a rubbing against the bottom of the net. It has been a failed scene of collective misery for fifty years.

Did Weird Stuff Antiques ever find a new location?
I see the website still lists the Tracy address.

The building on the SE corner of E. 9th and Tracy has been demolished. Many of you will remember its' last tenant being Weird Stuff Antiques.

Shame. Interesting architecture. Was Goodwill or Salvation Army at one time, I think.
