The renderings are to make people like the project? So, you are basically saying it's going to look worse? Well, better than nothing I suppose.
No, I'm saying it'll probably look different. "Worse" is subjective.

Drove by 45th and SW Trfy yesterday. Tudor Homeworks (or whatever) is gone, and the other buildings around it are vacant and look ready for demolition.

I noticed that as well.

I also saw that just about the entire block north of the Hotel site is up for sale....wonder whats sitting in the wings to develop that spot?

I was by there today. The houses along Belleview are gone and the poor little brick building on the corner had the fence of doom around it.

That always seemed like a very difficult location for a business. If you missed the turn onto 45th to park, you have to wind around on Roanoke to get back there.

Easy to miss your lateral when you're getting flushed down the traffic sewer.

luckily good signage will help with this. large corner sign with the hotel logo and the word parking with an arrow

This site has been cleared for development for quite a while now. Now it's just a big hill of dirt.

Found the rendering back up on BRR's website: http://www.brrarch.com/portfolio/springhill-suites/

Wonder if this project will actually ever happen?

For being at the plaza, hopefully it's larger than that

Looks like a typical "how do we fit our cookie-cutter building onto this non-pad site parcel" approach to site planning.

Any update on this project? I literally drive by this site every day going to work and have not seen any activity.

Absolutely hideous. Gah, what a 100% soulless building. That building had to have been copy and pasted onto that site. And won't you just look at that blank wall along the street? This might be the worst building I've ever seen. I'm debating whether this is worse than the 20th and Main hotel. I think that one may be worse for the neighborhood, but this one is probably uglier.

And what's really bothering me on a different level is the "look" of this building. The colors, materials, etc. I mean how many more buildings need to look like this? This is really like the only style of architecture that local architects seem to know about. I know that materials cost a lot of money and that all projects cost a fortune as well, but I'd like to think you would get better materials and design work for $1500 a month ya know. Obviously this building is a hotel, but it's the same thing.

the close grass is likely a result of city code relating to parking garages

That rendering appears to turn one-way traffic on Belleview into two-way traffic with a left turn lane northbound onto 45th street.

ha, good catch. And on the flip side, 45th IS a two way but rendering shows a car driving west in the eastbound lane.

Anyone know what's going on with this development? Site is cleared and been empty for a long time now.
