Disappointing to see it close but that place was a dump.

True. But I spent a ton of time there when I was too young to notice how much of a dump it was.

as dated as it was, it was very clean. a classic that will be missed!

I wonder if it was owned by the same people who owned the DQ at Rainbow and Southwest Blvd., as that one is now closed for good as well (closed sometime early this month)

I think corporate DQ is also pushing some of the older stores to close or remodel. Wasn't there one in Independence where they had to pull the franchise license because the owner wouldn't comply?

They hope to reopen in a few days as a breakfast and lunch diner. They are putting the new name to a family vote but a good possibility is 85th St. Eats & Sweets.
