The large white windows look like doors that might lead to balconies, giving the building an unfinished look.

Update: October 10, 2018. There doesn't appear to be any visible progress since the July post.
Fang, it's a natural pause between phases of construction, compounded by rain delays.

In the mean time, they have been busy with the renovation of 90 historic apartment units on Maple Blvd.
A really important save of these buildings and the affordable housing options they represent.

It's clearly delayed. Topping out should have taken 3-4 months total for a building that size.

We were in a drought for most of the summer so rain can't be an excuse.

This is terrible!

They have done such a beautiful job with this place. Had anyone seen the new garage with stained glass window they recently completed??

I really hope they can rebuild and make it look almost as great as it did.
I haven't seen whether the Scarritt home can be rebuilt or if it is a total loss, but I was so sad when I saw the terrible news.

I love the Northeast area of Kansas City and am so glad I took a picture of this beautiful home in February 2008.

An update on the rebuilding of the Scarritt house on Norledge that was severely damaged by fire. A new roof structure was lifted and installed this week using a crane.

3626 Norledge is for sale. This has been a complete renovation. I recall for a long period of time this house had a tarp over the roof.

This house on the NE corner of E. 6th and Olive is being demolished. I think the address is 2410-12 E. 6th Street. The parcel appears to be owned by the American Sons of Columbus Club.

Excellent before and after pictures. So much character and history in that big old house. It seemed like it kept going and going!

There is aciivity with this building on the NW corner of E. 8th and Woodland. I had noticed before that the roof had collapsed sections. It appears the roof is being replaced, and the building either stabilized or renovations. I was worried this building would get demolished. I hope it gets included as part of the redevelopment of the Paseo Gateway project.

This screenshot from Google Streetview shows sections of missing roof.

Image

From the street I could see new beams through the window and enclosed roof.
