After more than a year of renovation and antique hunting, she’s now ready to show off the J.G. Peppard House at 1704 Jefferson St. It’s being reopened as as Airbnb with fully-furnished accommodations on each of its three levels.

And the raccoon is now residing in Swope Park.

An open house is scheduled for this First Friday (April 6) from 4- to 9 p.m. There will be a jazz trio starting at 5:30 p.m., champagne and actors playing Mrs. and Mrs. Peppard.

This now makes more sense. My wife and I jogged past this "haunted house" so many times wondering what would happen to it. We saw the inside during the estate sale and assumed whoever bought it was a multi-millionaire given the cost required for minimum level renovation. It looks like a big house from the street, but it feels much bigger inside. Sounds like the buyers didn't make terrific calculations on the reno, but I'm very glad it was saved, and it will be nice that others can experience the neighborhood.

This two-story house and garage, on the west side of the 2100 block of Holly, has been demolished and lots are now for sale.

Foundation work has begun on a new house on the west side of the 1700 block of Belleview.

A new house is being constructed on the east side of the 1700 block of Belleview.

This finished house on the east side of the 1700 block of Madison.

A new house being constructed on the west side of the 1700 block of Madison.

A foundation has been poured for a new house on the west side of the 1700 block of Madison -- just north of the house above.

It appears that a new garage with inlaw flat atop it is being constructed on the east side of the 1600 block of Madison.

This house is being renovated on the east side of the 1700 block of Summit.

That last house makes me really sad; the rest of it looks like a mini-Beacon Hill.

Two tone extreme is what's in style right now.

Expect more homes to be painted more extreme like this.

I'm a fan of any trend that moves away from all-white cabinets/kitchens. People will be so mad they did that in 5 years.

At 17th & Washington (1710 Washington St) a warehouse is being turned into a bouldering gym called Sequence Climb that also features a multi purpose training room for yoga and fitness classes.

Looked like they cut the slab and poured the spread footings a week or two ago (I live close to the place and pass it on my drive to work everyday)

17 Madison project finally starts this week, according to family members living in the neighborhood. Tree branches have already been chopped off prior to removal, to be followed by demo of existing building on site.
